Art and Artists that rose to fame in the 1940s era were Edward hopper and Jackson  Pollock and art like, abstract expressionism. Also they had artist like Edward hopper and Jackson Pollock. Abstract expressionism became widely famous after WWII; it was based on action painting and color field painting.  Artists liked this painting because of the large canvasses, dramatic colors and loose brushworks.
            Art expressionism is the type of art where painters show emotion in their work and through painting.  In the 1940s abstract expressionism caused a new era to begin. This new era brought artist to be influenced by this type of art that was called abstract expressionism. In addition these works brought some new flavors and taste to the art era.
            Edward Hopper was a famous artist of the 1940s art era, He was born in Hudson, river of Nyack New York State on July 22,1882.  He was the type of painter who was intensely private and created important themes in his paintings. He worked at his father’s dry good store after school when he was young. When Hopper turned 17 he decided that he would become an artist His parents persuaded him to study commercial illustration. In addition he was a great painter and his works are still recognize today.
            Jackson Pollock was a famous artist of the 1940s Pollock was really skilled in abstract expressionism. When Mr. Pollock joined the abstract expressionism era of art he abandoned the old tradition for action painting. Jackson was very creative He used knives and sticks instead of brushes.  In 1947 he began working on paintings with patterns. In only a couple of years he mastered the great drip technique, In his paintings he expressed emotions and gave the paintings a sensible touch to come alive for everyone to see. This great painter passed away in 1956 leaving us the memories of him and his great pieces of art.
            In conclusion abstract expressionism became famous in the 1940s the as artists gave life to this art. Also great painters passed through this era like Jackson Pollock and Edward Hopper. There paintings expressed emotion and loose brushwork but some artist expressed it by using different objects. Afterwards the artist may have passed away but they will always be remembered for their works. If I had one chance to know what’s it like and to see how abstract expressionism is used I would give it a try.
