The 1920 - 1929 History
The 1920s was the decade of the rebirth of a great Klan, a good political leader and a Great depression over the economy. In the 1920s there was an election, Warren G. Harding against James M. Cox. The Ku Klux Klan was reborn and it was a danger for African Americans and immigrants. The KKK Klan was destroying life and a large number of people were joining. Meanwhile the Great Crash was stared to affect every body in the 1920s decade. The way people change there life during the Great Crash and the way they live in the 1929 was spending least on whats less important.
In the 1920s election, Warren G. Harding ran against James M. Cox a democratic Ohio Governor. Harding ran with a promise to "Return to Normalcy" and the women nationwide could vote for the first time and the election was covered in the radio. In the end of the election, Harding was the one that won the election and become the 29th president. In April 1921, Harding made a peacemaking with Germany and Austria of new immigration laws and emergency tariffs. In June 1923, President Harding went to a cross country voyage and it was called “Voyage of Understanding,” to meet ordinary people and explain his polices. As he was on is voyage, Harding was the first president to visit Alaska. Warren G. Harding only was president for 3 years, and then he died at the age of 57 with a heart attack.
The Ku Klux Klan was reborn and people around the United States knew about the Klan. The KKK was a secret Klan that is a white supremacist organization that the United State had. The Klan likes to Terrify all African Americans by killing them and showing them out in public. The Klan does this to the immigrants and it was an anti-immigrant Klan. There were over 4 million members and it’s a powerful Klan in this decade. The Klan is in Colorado, Indiana, and Oregon and they would burn crosses on fire and they will wear all white. This great powerful Klan leader was Edward Jackson.
The Great Crash was started to being in the end of the 1920s decade and it was affecting every one. The one that is more effecting was the market because the stock markets just crash to all business owners. All food prices just went up as well as all of the supply each person need. The banks loans money to brokers in market place, like around $5.7 million and economy ultimate drop down.
Overall the 1920s decade was about depression and disunity. The KKK brought disunity to all Americans. The Great Crash was depressing to all of the market and the people that buy the supply. And lastly depressing was the death of the president.
