| Art of the 1900’s
The art of the 1900s formed a special relationship with the people of the United States with their imagination, past experience and love for art. These arts had a huge impact on the world and gave a rise to new ideas as well as birth to many new styles or art and even greatly influenced the ones people use today.
Many of the artistic styles included painting, photography, water painting, realism, abstract, architecture and many more. People made their creations using their own style of art and combined those styles with their imagination to make something new, something they liked. Many artists were influenced by the war that took place in the early 1900’s and based their drawings and poems on American heroes and real people. Americans embraced new changes and brought forth ideas influenced by philosophy, religion, and modern times.

Charles Demuth was a water colorer and painter and was born on October 23, 1935 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He studied and mastered a style called Precisionism, also known as Cubist Realism, an artistic movement that was at its height and had emerged in the United States after World War I. One of his greatest works of all time was the “Figure Five in Gold”. He was one of the first artists to have ever been completely influenced by the modern technology and machinery of his time. His painting is based on the fire engine of a car he saw passing through Nineth Avenue in New York while he was drinking a cup of coffee. After just seeing it once, he was already amazed by the colors and details he saw from the car even if it was only for half a second. He wanted to draw and paint it like the exact moment he laid eyes on it, it was pure genius. Demuth also wanted to make a poem about it and that was also a success in the making. Many people were inspired by how he captured the audio sensation by just looking at it once. It was like a “snapshot taken” by the poets perception and everyone wanted to recreate what he experienced firsthand. Everyone, including artists, loved how he made all of his paintings. People began exploring within their inner selves and paid more attention to the outside world and their surroundings. They loved how Demuth made his drawings and tried imitating him to the best of their abilities. The main key assets to his works of art are accuracy and precision.
Arthur Dove was an American Artist and modernist and was one of America’s first abstract painters as well as one of the best there was. He was born on August 2, 1880 in Canadaigua, New York. He was really into nature and implored that into his style of art. His illustrations were popular not just because they were good but because they brought life to the characters and situations they depict ed, creating a sense of realism thus influencing people and artists from all around the world.
In conclusion, the 1900’s helped create a bridge between the people of society and the magical world of art. People began combining their skills and will power with their imaginations and experiences to create something anew. There were many artists with many different styles of art. Charles Demuth was revered for his gift of precession and accuracy and his modernistic view of life. Arthur Dove was popular for bringing his drawings and paintings to life and showin g the world that there is more than meets the eye. I like the 1900’s because I got to learn about all kinds of art styles and how it influenced everyone else. As a fellow artist, I enjoyed reading and writing about art and I intend to be the next best artist there is.
