Literature in the 1880’s

In the 1880’s, literature was very Intresting. Writers were rising out

of the blue, and ready to write. Like the author Emile Zola. He wrote

a 20 collectively known series called, “Les Rougon-Macquart.” It

was Influenced by violence, alcoholism, and prostitution. Mark

Twain, is another author In the 1880’s. He wrote, “Adventures of

Huckleberry Finn.” He also wrote, “The adventures of Tom Sawyer,

The Prince and the Pauper, A Connecticut Yankee In king Arthur’s

Court, and non-fictional Life on the Mississippi.”

Emile Zola was born in France April 2, 1840 till September

29, 1902. His father was an Italian engineer. Most of his child-hood,

he spent it in an Aix-en-Provence,(city in southern France, 30 km North

of Marseille.) and then went to College Bourbon. He was an Influential

French novelist. Emile Zola described his series:

“I want to portray, at the outset of a century of

liberty and truth, a family that cannot restrain

itself in its rush to possess all the good things

that progress is making available and is derailed

by it’s own momentrum, the fatal convulsions

that accompany the birth of a new world.”

Mark Twain was born November 30, 1835 till April 21, 1910.

He was a famous American Humarist, writer, and lecturer. He was also

a steamboat  pilot, gold prospector, and journalist. Ernest Hemingway

Said:            “All modern American literature comes from one

book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn…

All Americn writing comes from that. There was

nothing before. There has been nothing as good since.”

Back than, the people didn’t really need t.v’s, videogames,

computers, laptops as a form of entertainment. They used to read, draw,

paint, or other stuff as a form of entertainment. People used to read

novels or make their own stories for children. People used to read Mark

Twain or other novels for entertainment.

Now a days, kids are lazy. Well , most of us are. We just sit our

butt’s down, and play videogames, or we just hang out with friend, and

just chat. We don’t really like to read books because we get bored of

reading them, so we decide not to read.
