The plant species that were discovered in the 1930’s were the Charizanthe Rectispina, the Castilleja Mendocinesis, and Utricularia Salwinensis. Theses were popular plants in this era when it was recently discovered in this time. They are unusual plants that are not found in any common place unlike any house garden or parks, they grow in certain weathers and certain places.
Charizanthe Rectispina is a specie plant in the buckwheat family. The Rectispina specie is also known for prickly- spine flower and straight- awned spineflowe. It is most known from Monterey to Santa Barbara coutries. Rectispina plants grow in dry habitat places like in the hills of the Central Coast Ranges. It only spreads about 25 centimeters long with a grayish and greenish color with a hairy texture. Also, it is endemic to California.
Castilleja Mendocinesis is a specie from Indian Paintbrush, also known by Mendocino Coast Indian Paintbrush. It is also known from isolated places places from where it grows in Humbolt Country. This plant spreads heavily, growing up to 60 centimeters long. It is light- colored and with rough hairs, a gray- green color. It’s leaves are fresh and round (or oval) in shape. Its bracts are green or yellow and occasionally red- tinted and its capsule is up to (2) centimeters in its length.
Utricularia Salwinensis is a small specie that belongs to to the gene Utriularia. This specie is endemic to China. It is only known from Northwestern (type location). The Salwinesis grown as a lithotype or terrestrial specie in wet cliffs or in bogs in heights of 3,275 m (10,745 ft) to 4,000 m (13,123 ft).
These are the species/plants that were discovered in the 1930’s. Rectispina was from 1934, and the Mendoccinesis and Salwinesis were from 1936. The Salwineseis was originally described by Heinrich Handel- Mazzetti in 1936. These ware plants that are not usual species that don’t live in any garden or grass field. These are also very colorful and interesting plant.
