In the 1920s, UAC, or the United Artist Corporation, was put formed by Charles Chaplin, Mary Pickford Douglas and D.W. Griffith. The art of the 1920s makes me feel joy and sorrow. However, the sound of the art from the 1920s makes their lives fascinating. Although, the art of 1920s is somewhat dramatic and troubling, it had a great influence on our society. In the era of decade 1920s, in my opinion, jazz music was the best of all time. Also, African American art was reflected in the culture. At the same time the silent films dominated studios. George Meese was a famous photographer in the 1920's. Charlie Chaplin was a famous comedian in the silent film era. During that time, Charlie Chaplin's films were the best comedy films of all time. Chaplin's silent films had a huge influence on society. Even though silent films, obviously, didn't have sound, Chaplin was still one of the most successful actor/comedians of all time. Charlie Chaplin was a successful man. He worked hard on acting. The first film he performed was ,"The Kid". He won his first oscar award for his versatility and genius in writing He was recognized for his acting , directing and producing of "The Circus". In the early 1920s, the Harlem renaissance had begun. Louis Armstrong was a famous African American musician. He joined the first band called the hot 5 and in the late 20's Armstrong joined another band called the hot seven. And, in 1929, Louis Armstrong became a star and a celebrity. In the summer of 1922, Louis Armstrong arrived in Chicago and played with his first trumpet. His nickname was "stachelmouth" but it was shortened to "sachmo". In 1957 Louis performed his song "What a wonderful world" with Ella Fitzgerald. This song is till popular today In conclusion, this era shows how movies, arts, and poems had a major influence on other societies. Many African Americans, inspired by Armstrong, migrated to the north for better lives. The silent film era, Louis Armstrong, the Hot 5, and the Hot 7 had a giant influence on the music and comedic/dramatic films we watch today.
